KWSB Bill Online Check 2026

The month is ending, the due date is close and your water bill is nowhere in the house. Maybe it never arrived. This happens to thousands of homes in Karachi every month.

You do not need to visit an office to fix it. To check your KWSB bill online, type your consumer number into the box above exactly as it is printed on an older bill, complete the security check, and press submit. Your current bill opens in a few seconds. From there you can save it as a PDF, print it or pay it. The same steps give you a KWSB duplicate bill when the paper copy never came.

KWSB Is Now KWSC

KWSB Is Now KWSC

The old Karachi Water and Sewerage Board was reorganised into the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation under the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation Act, 2023 (Sindh Act No. XVIII of 2023). The Sindh Assembly passed the bill in June 2023.

So the correct name today is KWSC, or KW&SC. Most people in Karachi still say KWSB out of habit, and search engines still see huge numbers of searches for KWSB bill online. Both refer to the same water utility.

Why this matters to you in practice:

  • The current official website is www.kwsc.gos.pk.
  • The older kwsb.gos.pk address still exists in search results and on many blogs, but the newer site is where the working services now live.
  • If a page you land on looks abandoned or the bill form does not respond, you are probably on the old address.

What You Need Before You Start

What You Need Before You Start

You only need one thing: your KWSB consumer number.

  • You do not need a password.
  • You do not need to create an account.
  • You do not need your CNIC for a simple bill check.

It is the same idea as checking your wasa bill online in other cities, where a single consumer number opens your full billing record.

What the KWSB consumer number looks like

Here is where a lot of online guides give wrong information. Many of them tell you it is a plain 11 digit number. Some say 8 digits. Some say 14.

In reality, many Karachi water consumer numbers are a mix of letters and numbers, not digits alone. Real examples that residents have posted publicly when asking for help look like this pattern: a letter at the start, then a block of numbers, then sometimes another letter at the end.

The safe rule is simple. Do not guess the length and do not drop the letters. Copy the number exactly as it is printed on your bill, character for character. If there is a letter, type the letter.

This single habit fixes a large share of the record not found errors people run into.

Where to find your consumer number

Pick up any older Karachi water bill, even one from last year, and look at the top section, usually near your name and address. It is printed there under a label such as Consumer No or Consumer Number.

The number does not change when your bill is reissued. Once you have it, save it in your phone notes. You will use the same number every single month.

How to Check Your KWSB Bill Online

How to Check Your KWSB Bill Online (Step by Step)

There are two ways to do a KWSB bill check. Use whichever one is easier for you. Both show the same bill, because both pull the same billing record.

Method 1: Use the bill check box on this page

This is the quickest way, because you are already here.

  1. Scroll up to the bill check box on this page.
  2. Type your consumer number into the field. Type it exactly as printed on your old bill, including any letters. Do not add spaces or dashes.
  3. Complete the security check. This is a simple captcha that proves you are a person and not a machine.
  4. Press the submit button.
  5. Your latest KWSB bill opens on the screen. You will see your name, address, the billing month, the amount due, the due date, and any arrears carried forward.
  6. Save it as a PDF or print it if you need a copy.

That is the whole KWSB bill online check process. It is free, and you do not need to make an account or set a password.

Method 2: Use the official KWSC website

If you prefer to go to the source, open www.kwsc.gos.pk in your browser. On the home page, look for the billing option. On the current site this appears as a service tile labelled Get Your Bill, and a Bill Generation service is also listed under services.

The steps after that are the same. Enter your consumer number, complete the security check, and submit.

It is worth knowing both routes. If one is slow or down, the other usually still works.

If the bill does not load

The billing system gets busy, especially in the evening after new bills are issued. If it is slow, try again early in the morning. You can also clear your browser cache or open the page in a private window.

If nothing loads at all, the billing system itself may be down for maintenance. In that case, use the KWSC Unified App or call the helpline. Both are covered further down this page.

How to Download Your KWSB Duplicate Bill

How to Download Your KWSB Duplicate Bill

A duplicate bill is simply a fresh copy of the same bill. It is not a second bill and it does not mean you owe money twice. This confuses a lot of first time users.

When you need a duplicate copy

  • The postman never delivered your bill.
  • The bill was thrown away by mistake.
  • You need proof of payment for a landlord or an office file.
  • You want to pay at a bank counter and the counter needs a printed copy with a barcode.

How to get it

  1. Enter your consumer number in the bill check box on this page.
  2. Complete the security check and submit.
  3. When your bill appears, look for the download or save option and choose PDF. The file saves to your phone or computer.

There is no separate form for a duplicate bill. The copy you pull up online is the duplicate bill.

A few practical tips that save trouble later

  • Rename the file with the month, for example water-bill-august-2026.pdf. After a year you will have a clean folder instead of twelve files called download.
  • Keep at least twelve months of bills. If a billing dispute ever comes up, your own record of past amounts is the strongest thing you can put in front of a complaints officer.
How to Print Your Karachi Water Bill

How to Print Your Karachi Water Bill

If you want to pay at a bank counter or a Pakistan Post branch, you will usually need a printed copy.

  1. Open the PDF you downloaded.
  2. Choose Print from the menu.
  3. Set the paper size to A4.
  4. Set scaling to actual size or 100 percent, not fit to page.

That last setting matters more than people expect. If the page is shrunk, the barcode at the bottom can become too small for the counter scanner to read. Cashiers then have to type your consumer number by hand, which is slower and creates room for typing mistakes.

Print in black and white. Colour is not needed and the counter does not care.

About the KWSC Unified App

About the KWSC Unified App

KWSC launched its Unified App in February 2026 at the Karsaz office. It is worth installing if you deal with water issues often.

The app puts several services in one place. You can view billing information and pay, book a water tanker, lodge a complaint, and track that complaint until it is closed. It is available in Urdu, English and Sindhi, and registration uses a simple one time password sent to your mobile number.

You can find it on Google Play and on the Apple App Store by searching for KWSC Unified. Make sure the developer is listed as the corporation itself, not a random third party.

How Your Bill Amount Is Actually Calculated

How Your Bill Amount Is Actually Calculated

This is the section most guides get wrong, and it explains a question people ask constantly: why is my neighbour paying less than me when we use the same amount of water?

For most homes in Karachi, your water bill is not based on how much water you use.

Under the current tariff structure, monthly water and sewerage charges for residential properties are worked out according to the size of your plot. A bigger plot means a bigger monthly charge. For commercial properties such as shops and business centres, the corporation sets fixed monthly rates by category.

Bulk and industrial consumers are different. They are billed by volume, meaning by the actual gallons they consume.

So if you live in a normal house or flat, running your taps less will not lower your monthly charge. Your plot size does not change month to month, so your bill stays roughly the same unless the tariff itself changes or arrears build up.

This is genuinely useful to know. It means that a sudden jump in your bill is usually not a usage issue. It is far more likely to be an arrear, a category change, or a tariff revision.

The 2026 tariff revision, in plain numbers

Here is the most recent verified change, which is why bills went up this year.

Item Detail
Increase approved 7.05 percent
Financial year 2026 to 2027
Effective from 1 July 2026
Officially notified Sindh Government Gazette, 10 August 2026
Basis for the increase Average Consumer Price Index
Average bill before About Rs900 per month
Average bill after About Rs1,000 per month
Typical monthly difference About Rs100
Consumers affected About 1.289 million domestic and commercial
Bulk and industrial consumers About 8,000
Bulk volumetric rate Raised from 0.526 paisa per gallon to 0.563 paisa per gallon

Because the revision took effect from 1 July but was formally notified in August, some consumers saw the change appear a little later than the start of the financial year.

For context, this was the second significant rise in two years. In September 2024 the corporation raised monthly charges by roughly 23 percent.

A word of caution on exact rates. Plot size slabs and commercial category rates are set out in the official notified schedule of charges. Rate tables copied onto blogs go out of date quickly and often contain guesses. For the figure that applies to your own property, check the official schedule or ask at a consumer services centre. Do not rely on a number you found in a comment section.

How to Complain About a Wrong Bill

How to Complain About a Wrong Bill

Complaining works better when it is done properly. Here is the sequence.

First, gather your evidence. Download the disputed bill and the three bills before it. Collect your payment receipts. If a payment is missing, find the transaction reference.

Second, lodge the complaint through an official channel. Use the online complaint system at complain.kwsc.gos.pk, or the KWSC Unified App, or the helpline. The corporation also runs a complaint redressal mechanism through these channels.

Third, write down your complaint number. Without it you cannot track anything and you will have to start again.

Fourth, follow up. Use the track complaint option on the portal or in the app.

Fifth, escalate in person if nothing moves. Take your file to the consumer services centre. Bring copies, not originals.

One habit that makes a real difference: put your request in writing and keep a copy. A phone call leaves no trail. An email or a portal complaint with a reference number does.

Related Services You Can Use With the Same Account

Related Services You Can Use With the Same Account

Booking a water tanker. Where piped supply is short, you can request a tanker through the official system. This is available through the website and through the KWSC Unified App, and by helpline. Booking through official channels rather than private middlemen is the safer route.

Applying for a new connection. New domestic and commercial connections are applied for through the corporation, with an application, supporting documents including CNIC and property papers, a site inspection, and then installation. Once the connection is live you are issued your own consumer number and normal monthly billing begins.

Registering a complaint about supply or sewerage. The same complaint system handles water shortages, leaks, sewerage blockages, and illegal connections.
